BTE’s are easy to handle, and provide the most amplification, making them the preferred solution for people with severe-to-profound hearing loss. Custom earmolds fit your outer ear and ear canal comfortably for all-day use, and the open-canal earpieces help prevent that “plugged up” feeling that some users experience. These types of hearing aids are usually more durable than their counterparts, requiring fewer repairs than In-The-Ear (ITE) or Receiver-In-Canal (RIC) hearing aids.
